El Camino is Within You, Always
Today, July 25th is the feast day of St. James, the patron saint of the Pilgrimage of El Camino de Santiago, Spain. As a Walk in Beauty Pilgrim you know first-hand about the magic, comradery, authentic, heartfelt stories shared, moments of discovery, laughter, tears, renewal, challenge, and accomplishment of this extraordinary journey.
Over the years, Walk in Beauty participants have made life-changing choices to live closer to what matters most. Participants have changed careers, moved across the country or to other countries, found new loves, connected within themselves for greater authenticity, learned to be better leaders, come to greater peace, acceptance, and understanding, and much more.
This year I am taking a hiatus from Walk in Beauty for a different type of pilgrimage: I will take my brother and his wife’s ashes back to Jamaica to the crescent-shaped beach, a place they loved.
For now, thank you for being a part of Walk in Beauty, and as way of expressing my admiration and appreciation, here’s a touching video of Pam Coffey, who participated in the Portuguese Coast Camino in October 2023 and a recording of David Whyte reciting the poem, Finisterre.
Ultreya!
“When I began pilgrimage was just a word and now it’s a feeling. . . .”
