The living legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. remains an inspiration for how I want to live each day. He said that individually and collectively as a society we must “undergo a radical revolution of values.” To bring about this shift in values, he said rapid change is needed from a “thing-oriented society” to a “people-oriented society”, from profit-driven to people-driven. King’s wisdom calls us to recognize that we are interconnected, that what happens to you affects me and what happens to me affects you. Together we build King’s dream of ‘beloved community’.
