Honoring the Spirit Within: A Courage & Renewal® Retreat for Kennett Friends Meeting at Pendle Hill, located at 338 Plush Mill Road, Wallingford, PA.,

January 30-February 1, 2026

PRIVATE EVENT

Focused on cultivating the inward and outward expression of Spirit, this retreat is based on the work of author and activist Parker J. Palmer and the Center for Courage & Renewal.  The retreat explores a myriad of queries, including:

·       How to love ourselves and others at this time of division and polarization?

·       How to remain tender to those whom we disagree and hold that of God in them and within?

·       How to be silent and still enough to listen to God’s call in our lives?

The retreat attends to body and soul, providing a safe and sheltered space to slow down and nurture personal and communal integrity, and the courage to lean into individual and collective action. Guided by core principles and practices, which include the belief that everyone has an inner teacher, an inner source of truth, the retreat engages contemplative practices to support personal, interpersonal, and societal transformation.

Early morning periods of silence, guided meditation, or gentle movement support clarity.  A form of the clearness committee will be offered to support discernment of personal or communal issues or dilemmas of concern to Kennett Friends Meeting.  The retreat includes time for rest and renewal, as well as time to enjoy the natural beauty of Pendle Hill – all important components of transformation. An important objective of the retreat is to strengthen bonds of connection, community, and mutual trust and understanding within Kennett Friends Meeting.
