THE WORLD WE KNOW IS POSSIBLE: A BIPOC Retreat (In Person 2026)

This August, I am honored to co-facilitate The World We Know Is Possible, an in-person retreat for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color at Upaya Zen Center. Designed as a refuge of belonging, connectedness, and joy, this retreat offers space where our stories, identities, and lived experiences are held with care, respect, and gratitude.

Grounded in mindfulness meditation and a deep relationship with the natural world, the retreat invites collective healing and strengthens our capacity for resilience, love, and generosity. Together, we will engage contemplative practices that support social and environmental responsibility while nurturing joy, creativity, courage, and hope amid these complex times.

The weekend includes dharma teachings, guided meditation (both seated and gently moving), mindful walking and movement, nature-based practices, ritual, writing and reflection, and small and large-group sharing. No prior meditation experience is required. The retreat is open to all self-identified Black, Latinx, Asian, Indigenous, and People of Color.
